Job Title:
Civil Engineer / Construction Inspector
Minimum Requirements:
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
• 2 years experience in job offered
• Skills and knowledge in AISC, AASHTO IBC, NYS DEC, AutoCAD, Revit, MathCAD, OSHA, Applied GIS, Stress and deformation analysis
Job Requirements:
Analyze and assess engineering blueprints and structural and shop drawings for inspection including steel, concrete, masonry and timber using Applied GIS and Stress and deformation analysis; Inspect and review construction projects to ensure compliance with OSHA, federal/local safety codes as per AISC, AASHTO IBC and NYS DEC; Prepare shop drawings for the designs performed using AutoCAD, Revit, and MathCAD; Perform and coordinate NYS and NYC code required special inspections including Structural Inspections (Concrete, Bolting, Welding, Reinforced steel, Masonry) to ensure compliance with ASTM standards; Analyze soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of steel, piles, concrete, and foundations; Analyze survey engineering reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and geologic data; Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors for pile driving; Provide technical advice on design, construction, structural changes, and schedule modifications to engineering project staff.
